About Me and My Loves

About Me and My Loves
Howdy Y'all and Welcome! I have been married to my studly hubby for almost 5 years now; who is an energetic, outgoing, handyman helicopter pilot. We recently made our first big move cross country from Utah to Texas with our now 20mo. old "Rae of Sunshine" Azure. We love experiencing anything and everything and holding nothing back. We love dreaming and creating things of all kinds together. I hope that this blog will help our families back home keep up with our busy life, and maybe inspire some along the way...from family to home, money to food, holidays, travel, photography and crafts. this... this is my life!.... Enjoy.

HELLO my name is.... I'm really bad at this!

I know, I know!!   I am horrible at this blogging regularly thing. However, now that I have the opportunity to be a Full-Time, Unpaid, Overworked, Under-Rested, No breaks allowed Mommy; AND since I now live 1,300 miles away from BOTH our families. I figure it is about time I join the rest of the online world in keeping everyone up to date with our day to day lives.

First off I would like to add that I am not going to even attempt to go back in time and try to catch the blog up on things missed. That would be asinine, and no one deserves that kind of torture (not to mention the nights I have cried myself to sleep because of our hard drive dying on us and our whole lives spent together have been washed away!! *sniff *sniff.) Hopefully soon we will come to our senses and fork over the $1,000 dollars or so to get them back. So for now, don't even think about getting your hopes up unless you are willing to donate to the cause... My life in bloggland starts here.

ITS A .........

Ok people so we know what our baby is!!! We went in yesterday to the Doc and as clear as daylight! Unfortunately none of you get to find out for a couple more weeks, because we haven't told our families yet. So once we announce it, we will let you know!! Other than that exciting tidbit, our baby is healthy and very active and VERY stubborn! While measuring the babies anatomy, at one point it was relaxing as if my uterus was a hammock on the beach. It was lying on its back with both hands behind its head with its legs sprawled out and ankles crossed, (my nephew sawyer sleeps like this every night so we thought that was ironic) It was so CUTE! Then once the doc started poking and prodding trying to get a frontal photo of the babies face, it rolled over on its stomach in the fetal position and covered its face with its hands! Its as camera shy as I am! So we were only able to get profile pics of the face. But it did cooperate very nicely for when the doc took a picture of its bum! So there was no mistaking! We are super excited for the rest of the journey and cant wait to meet our little one!
Pictures to come soon!

BOY or GIRL?

2 days people!... 2 DAYS!!! Til we find out what we are having! I'm so excited I think I just peed a little!

But we won't be telling anyone what we are having for a few more days. We are wanting to do something fun and special since we really didn't get the chance to tell them we were pregnant in a fun way.

But we will keep you all posted!!!!

What do You think we are having?!

Baby Bump @ 13 weeks

It's True!! We are having a Baby! And we couldn't be more excited! These are some (not that great) pictures of the bump at 13 weeks, ultrasound pics coming soon. If I could only get my scanner to work!
We are going in Oct. 6th for the unveiling of the this child's gender!! Don't care what it is, as long as its healthy (love how everyone says that but never really means it).
I am currently 18 1/2 weeks and a couple weeks ago in sacrament meeting I finally felt for the first time the difference between gas and the baby; and the baby is a Goer! Anytime its quiet or Im relaxing, or even at work on the computer that thing is kicking up a storm! Brett loves feeling it move around and we love watching for my stomach to Pop like Popcorn!
Such an amazing thing.
But more to come soon... the gender.... more belly photos.... lots...lots...more!

2yr Anniversary on the 19th!!!

I can't believe that its been 2 years already, but at the same time I can't remember my life without Brett.
So to count the miles we have gone this year in hopes that the years to come will keep getting better and better:

February 2009
We celebrated our 1st year anniversary, and my 22nd Birthday.
Brett had just received his private helicopter pilots licence the month before and started training for his instrument licence.
He also started working part time as the Marketing Director for Mountain Ridge Helicopters as well as working full time for Thermo Fischer.

March 2009
What a whirl wind this month was! We discovered that we were pregnant and the very night that I told Brett I landed myself in the ER with a freaking Kidney Stone (not recommended for anyone to experience). But after 32 hours in the Hospital bed that little (and when I say little I really mean a size of a rock, that was pure black!) sucker finally mad its way out.
I also started to work part time for Mackley Designer Portraiture as the Photo Editor/Graphic Designer

April 2009
Nothing too exciting happened in April I guess. I started doing some graphic design work for Mountain Ridge Helicopters.

May 2009
Started the month of with a miscarriage at 12 weeks. Not recommended for anyone either.
Brett then started to work full time for Mountain Ridge and quit Thermo Fischer.
We also pulled off a very successful open house for the Heli School. Brett worked very hard in planning it and it was awesome!!

June 2009
I "quit" working at little wonders and started working full time at Mackley.
I also started working part time for Mountain Ridge. I clean the offices and the bathrooms because face it...men are disgusting!! And they need someone to clean up after them.

July 2009
We went to Yellowstone with my sister Sevana and her family. It was great! We saw tons of Buffalo, a moose, and a mama and baby black bear!

August 2009
Brett and I moved from our basement 1bed 1bath apartment in Logan to a 4bed 3bath home in Smithfield on the golf course. We live on the main level and Brett's brother Ty lives on the bottom level. Its great!

September 2009
Brett turned 29 this month.
Brett also became a Commercial Helicopter Pilot!

October 2009
We went to Torrance, California for a Robinson Heli Training Course. We went down with some friends of ours, Jeremy also goes to Mountain Ridge. So while the boys were flying over the ocean. Me and Kinta shopped, and we shopped and we shopped!! They had a 3 level inside and outside huge mall. It was like the gateway, fashion place and southtowne malls combined!

November 2009
We went to California again this time with my Aunt and Uncle Alan and JoAnn their kids and grandkids and my sister and her kids. We stayed in a beach house and went to Disneyland!!! Brett's first time! It was great! We also were able to go and do sealings in the San Diego Temple.

December 2009
This month was filled with family and holiday parties... busy!

January 2010
We rang in the new year

February 2010
We will be celebrating our 2nd year of marriage as well as our 3rd year being together on the 19th. Then the week after that we will be celebrating my 23rd Birthday!

Our love has grown and deepened I look forward to many more years with my Brett! I love you B and can't imagine life without you! You are my best friend, and the only one I share my soul with!

"Rooster one day, feather duster the next"...

These little beasts are what lurk in the bushes and on fence posts waiting for my blue car to come by. Why I have had such luck in the past 6 months hitting these random species, no one knows.

My 4th of July as a Pilots Wife...

So For the 4th Brett and I were in charge of the Float for the Hyrum parade for Mountain Ridge Helicopters (Brett's work and school). I of course was in charge of the decorations, and it turned out pretty cute. But unfortunately the pictures don't do it any justice.
This is a picture of the smoke ball that Mark lit so that we in the helicopter could tell which way the wind was blowing...great idea mark!

This is us making a flyover to inspect that nothing is in our way of landing.

No one would believe that we landed the helicopter on this tiny 16foot trailer but we did!

Brett and Trevor were the amazing pilots that made the awesome touch down. And it only took two tries! I thought it was going to be more. That is me in the back, I was videoing our land onto the trailer. It was intense!! It was also my first time flying with the doors off and it was so awesome!!! I would recommend it to anyone!!

Mark was guiding us onto the trailer and making sure that we were straight and in the middle so that when we touched down the trailer didn't tip. If you look close you will notice that we are in a hover above the trailer about a foot off of it while we are chatting away with mark! I FREAKIN LOVE HELICOPTERS!!

And...WE DID IT!!

We had to wait forever in the parking lot for the parade to start, but we turned alot of heads and made people interested.

The Crew that helped us decorate! Thanks everyone.

We were the grand finally of the parade!

You see the cute decorations, we used quilting stuffing to make cute puffy clouds as if the heli was flying thru them.

We could not believe how many people there were at this small town parade!

Ya we ran out of candy pretty quickly

Here is the booth that we had at the park afterwards.

And here we are taking off to go home. All in all it was a great day.

Once I get a chance I will post more pictures and the video of Landing on the trailer. But in the meantime checkout the schools website... mountainridgeheli.com

2007 Chevy Cobalt LT

So this isn't our exact car but it is its twin until I can get our cars beautiful face up. But we are selling our car to help pay for our school loans. Its a 2007 Chevy Cobalt LT. 36,000 miles 30 to 40 mpg. Power windows and locks, a/c and heat, cd and MP3 auxillary input, like new interior. And we just put new tires on it last month and got its oil changed. Its a great car and we hate to sell it but sacrifices are a part of life. So if anyone is or knows someone who is looking for a great economical car give us a call.

Summertime...

Brett had to study all weekend so we decided to go for a picnic up the canyon. So we took some lunch, our hammock and his books. We had a nice relaxing time by the river... I slept and got sunburned and he studied. Love It!

and the golden gates will ring... HEEERRREEESSS...... Ed... and Farrah....and Michael.

I cant believe that MJ is gone! You wouldnt guess by this picture but I actually love michael jackson for his music and his dancing. He was so talented, crazy, but talented. But I came across this pic in high school and about peed my pants in laughter.

Farrah was just beautiful! I watched a primetime on her battle with cancer just a couple weeks ago and it was very sad.

And late night shows will never have another ed.

Hollywood will never be the same.

Mackley Designer Portraiture...

I know its been a long time since we have blogged about our life....

Well since March I have been working part time at Mackley Designer Portraiture here in Logan on Main street, and fortunately I was recently given the opportunity to work there Full-Time. I LOVE MY JOB!!! Seriously, I have always had an itch for photography. I started out my journey with Photoshop and other amazing programs about a year and a half ago and along the way I have learned so much and gone leaps and bounds. I have taken classes but mostly just learned by first hand experience. I am so privileged to be working for and along side the KING of photography! He is amazing and I'm grateful that he found the trust in me to let me work for him. He seriously is the best photographer I have ever seen! In his 19 year career he has been awarded 9 photographer of the year awards! THANKS STEVE!!

Check out our website at www.mackleyphoto.com
from there you can see some of our work and also click on the visit blog link to see more.

Remember that song...

Isn't she beautiful, isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful, the song goes something like that!

uh you know Kevin

Tiara and I were just thinking of Brian Regan tonight and just thought of our favorite quote from him.

"One of our activities was making bike ramps out in the street. Cuz that’s where all the cars are. Put a cement block out in the middle of the road and you angle a piece of wood up to it, and the object was for one kid to get on his bike, and ride as fast as he could and see how high he could go. And that’s as far as we planned. It wasn’t until the first kid was like flipping in the air, “What happens now?! We don’t know!”

He hit a mailbox. We had a bunch of nine-year-old paramedics running up–we didn’t know what to do. Get up there “Aaahhhrraaaah! Get some leaves!” (You do what you can.)

Hey that was the easy part. THe hard part was being the kid that got sent in first to calm mom down before you dragged in the actual banged up brother.

You’d have to be the point man, ya know, “Go tell mom.”
“Uh-Uh-no-no.”
“It’s your turn.”
“Uh”

So you’d have to run in, “Hey, hey mom, uh OK, uh, uh, everthing’s fine.”

Ya know she bought that–yeah.

“Everything’s fine, I just wanted run in, at full speed. And uh, ya know, say hi, and uh, and uh, OK, so . . . Oh! You know Kevin? Uh OK, of course, OK. Well ya know like how his right arm, usually, usually, it bends, usually it would bend like that? OK, it’s now bendin’ like that right now. And it’s no big deal cuz we already looked at it but we were thinkin’ since you said that you had to go get milk later, anyway. So we were thinkin since you had to go anyway, ANYWAY, then we were all thinkin’ if when you go, if you just might wanna take him to the hospital.”

“And if you get peanut butter, get SMOOTH!”"
