About Me and My Loves

About Me and My Loves
Howdy Y'all and Welcome! I have been married to my studly hubby for almost 5 years now; who is an energetic, outgoing, handyman helicopter pilot. We recently made our first big move cross country from Utah to Texas with our now 20mo. old "Rae of Sunshine" Azure. We love experiencing anything and everything and holding nothing back. We love dreaming and creating things of all kinds together. I hope that this blog will help our families back home keep up with our busy life, and maybe inspire some along the way...from family to home, money to food, holidays, travel, photography and crafts. this... this is my life!.... Enjoy.

Wafer it.....

I have a love hate relationship with Valentine's Day. I love all the cute decorations, the cute valentines boxes and of course all the CHOCOLATE!!!

But for some reason I do not care for the forced expression of emotion. I would much rather have a date night with my hubby, flowers and chocolate on a regular everyday night than share it with the rest of the world.

But enough of my ranting.

You can blame it on whomever came up with the idea to sell carnations at a jr high on Valentine's Day. Because 13&14 year olds aren't self conscious enough, you have to humiliate them by reminding them that they are awkward 13&14 by delivering carnations from a secret admirer to them in class and letting those who don't receive one cover their head in shame. I mean come on!!!

Anyways, if you are looking for a quick, cheap and delightful valentine idea; here is an idea for you.

Its very quick and easy to throw together. All you need is:

Strawberry Wafer Cookies
White chocolate chips (I also made some with chocolate chips)
Cute Valentines Sprinkles
Treat bags/ or ziploc bags
Treat bag topper "Wafer It.... You Are A Pretty Sweet Valentine!"... I had a printable, but it seems that something has gone wrong with the file, so once I fix it I will share it. Or you can make your own.

... oh and a cute lil 2 yr old to do the sprinkling :) She did a pretty darn good job!

I think they turned out pretty cute. And if you break down the cost they come to about $.30 per valentine. I made 20 Valentines, but had extra baggies that I can save for next year. That is $7.50 total!!

If you need directions for this... well then you need directions for a lot of things in life :) Just kidding. But seriously, if you need instructions, leave a comment and I will let you know. Otherwise I am going to bed :)

Happy Valentines Day!!!
